Quiz Bowl

The Quiz Bowl team is comprised of 7th and 8th grade students who compete with other middle schools in games which contain questions and answers on all topics of human knowledge.  The games use a buzzer system and are normally between two teams of four players each.  A moderator reads the questions and the team that "buzzes-in" first is allowed to attempt to give the correct answer.  Middle school competition normally has three rounds of play; a toss-up round, a lightning round, and a toss-up/bonus round.  The team with the most points at the end of the three rounds is the winner for that match.  Our district tournament is played in bracket style with double elimination.

Maplewood's Quiz Bowl Team meets on Tuesday mornings from 7:00 until 7:30.
